New Home

32 Months!

We officially moved into our new home! Adisyn seems to be adjusting well to her new room, and her "big girl" bed. We converted her crib to a daybed then, now when we moved, it was able to convert again to a bed. We originally thought it was going to be a twin bed, so before we moved I bought new sheets and a comforter set so that when we moved we could have it all ready. But, when we started putting the bed together, it was a full-side bed! It looks huge! The good thing is that I get to lay with her when I'm putting her to bed, which we both really like. So I had to return all of her sheets and comforter and got her a new set! For the first couple of days she had to sleep on her crib mattress on the floor, but when the full-size mattress came in she seemed to really like it! Her room is a lot bigger now because she actually has a full-size room, instead of a small office space like she was in at the old house. The fun part of the whole thing is that her closet is her playroom! She loves all of her toys in one place. She also got to decorate the walls of her playroom with removal wall stickers. She even picked out her wall color for her room - light lavender (her favorite). I really wasn't sure what color she was going to pick, but we were going to go with it no matter what because we figured it would give her some say in the whole new house thing. It matches her stuff perfectly!

Adisyn also had to start a new school. Originally we were going to keep her with the same school, just relocate her one down in our area because we liked it so much, but we found out my new job has a preschool right on campus. We toured the school and really liked it! It's also so convenient that Adisyn goes to work with me and is in walking distance from my new office. Since she is so close to being 3, they placed her in a K3 class. In this school they stay with the same classmates all year instead of changing when one of them has a birthday. Her teacher's same is Shari and even though she has another main teacher they are out on maternity leave. Her class is called the Penguins. So, she's officially in K3!

We loved decorating and painting our new home to make it feel more like "home". We painted a few walls and decorated the front porch for fall. Even though we are living in the capital, we feel like we live in the country. Our house is private and in the woods, but in a nice neighborhood. We love walking to the neighborhood park. We even have biking trails in our back yard around a lake that we can ride. I know we're really going to like it here!

Ayudame!

31 Months!

Each weekend Adisyn and I are visiting daddy in our soon-to-be new city. We've been trying out some gymnastics gyms thinking that we will start Adisyn somewhere when we do move. We think it will be a great way for her to meet some new friends!

Adisyn had her first haircut on 8/24/14. It was really just a little trim to get rid of some straggly hairs and get her use to the whole process. The place that we went was really cute! For their "first hair cut" they get a certificate, a locket of their hair and they get their nails done! They even get to pick which car they want to sit in when they're getting their cut! Adisyn did great and she sat still and listened to everything the hairdresser told her to do! In the end the hairdresser put two little clips in her hair and took her "first hair cut" picture that they attached to the certificate. It was a great first experience!

Adisyn is learning more and more Spanish. Her favorite thing that she came up with that she says now is "Ayudame" which means "help me". She says it when she wants us to pick her up or help her do something...it's cute that she came up with it!

I've decided that I'm going to (try) to do a video each month of the blog. I love to hear what Adisyn comes up with and I love her sweet voice. I think it will be a great way of documenting her so that we can all see how she's changed and remember some of those sweet things that she once said. So, this a a little video diary:

So, as we will be settling into our new home this month, we'll have much more to share with you in our new house!

Getting Ready

30 Months!

Can you believe that Adisyn is over 2 1/2 years old now?!

This past month has been all about getting ready for the big move....whenever that is. Adisyn and I have been staying at our home, preparing it to be sold, while Mark is in Columbia at his new job. We visit each other on the weekend. Our new home has a great zoo close by, so we have been spending our weekends there. We have been there in the past and really enjoyed it, now we'll only be 10 minutes away! http://www.riverbanks.org/

It's going to be hard to move. Adisyn really likes her school and her teachers, Farrah and Brandi, are great! They really make her feel special. They told me that she loves to put on a dress-up princess dress and wear it all day long! Her best-friend right now is Olivia, who she talks about a lot. They're really cute together! We're really going to miss it here!

Adisyn's favorite things are to push her "babies" around in her stroller. This could mean actually baby dolls, or any of her animals. She also likes her toe nails and fingers painted, as now it's almost a ritual that we do it every Sunday night. Her favorite color for me to paint them are purple. She watches EVERYTHING I do and she will mimic things I do, say or how I get ready in the morning. She is really understanding what her feelings mean more so now. She will tell me "I'm sad. I miss daddy". She still loves me to read to her before she goes to bed after we watch 1 episode of either Dora or Bubble Guppies. She is also learning how to match her shoes to her clothes as she will pick out some shoes that "match". She is now able to count to 15 in Spanish, although her counting to 10 in Spanish is much better.
